Lagos State arrest 30 wheel barrow pushers days after banning their activities

The Lagos State Government arrested 30 cart pushers for dumping refuse indiscriminately on road medians in some areas of the State in the middle of the night. . Chairman of the State’s Task Force on Environmental and Other Special Offences (Enforcement Unit), SP Olayinka Egbeyemi, said the arrest was in line with the recent ban on the activities of cart pushers and wheel barrow operators by the State Government. . Egbeyemi, who affirmed that the activities of cart pushers in the State are illegal, said investigations found them culpable in dumping refuse on the road side especially at night thereby sabotaging efforts by the Government to keep the State clean. . He said the Government is poised to go all out to prosecute any persons found to be working against the new waste management policy encapsulated in the Cleaner Lagos Initiative (CLI), saying the programme is designed to revolutionalise waste administration in line with global best practices when fully operat

  President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja, called on the government and people of Benue State to exercise restraint following the recent attacks on some communities, assuring that all the perpetrators of violence in the state will be made to face the wrath of the law. Receiving a delegation of political leaders, traditional rulers and elders of the state led by Governor Samuel Ortom  at the Presidential Villa, President Buhari said all those involved in the conflict that culminated in loss of lives would not escape justice, including any illegally armed militia in the state. Pastor Chris Kwakpovwe announces plan to run 50,000 Kilometres this year in other to loose weight

Dr. Chris Kwakpovwe, a pharmacist turned pastor has started the New Year with a determination to accomplish two principal things. Announcing his resolutions at different times at a recent service at the Manna Prayer Mountain both at Ogudu Ori-Oke and Lekki in Lagos, he promised to be a better father to his children and husband to his wife. Another area of the cleric’s life which he seeks to mend is his physique.  Weighing about 95kg and a little under six-feet, Kwakpovwe told the congregation that he is going to take more time to keep fit. “My target is to run 50000 kilometres this year. Last year, I ran 40000 kilometres. I have set that target for myself, in order to improve on my physical attributes. Former YBNL star, Lilkesh popularly known as Mr. YAGI has finally reacted to the viral video of Mavin act, Reekado Banks publicly declaring that he has always been better than him. The said video had Reekado Banks addressing a crowd of fans at his “Thank You” concert in Ibadan about the next rated brouhaha that surfaced at the Headies Award some years back, the singer said categorically that he is better than Lilkesh. “The person wey you say better pass me, I Better Pass Him Papa” – Reekado Banks declared. Sex Workers In Anambra Slams Gov. Obiano For Demolishing Shanties

The demolition of illegal structures on the Onitsha/Enugu Expressway by the Anambra State Government has displaced some sex workers. Also dislodged by the demolition were some urchins believed to specialise in snatching people’s personal effects in the area. Speaking with Southern City News on Friday, the leader of the sex workers in the area, who identified herself as Linda, berated the state governor, Chief Willie Obiano, for approving the demolition. She said, “So, this place has suddenly become ‘illegal structures’? This was where we voted for Obiano in the November 18 election. “Why didn’t they demolish the so-called shanties before the election? The governor did not even consider giving us a notice before carrying this action. This is inhuman. We are human beings and we have the rights to shelter. “But one thing is clear, nobody can force us out of this place. We shall obtain approved plans and build here.
