Army commander, soldier killed in Algeria

An army commander and and a soldier were killed by an armed
group on Friday, in the locality of Colo, in the upper woods of the
province of Skikda, 400 km eastern Algeria, local media reported
on Saturday.
Quoting a security source, TSA news website said the two
troopers were killed during an armed clash with a terrorist
group. The source added that the troops were conducting a
dragging operation in the woods of Colo, where an armed group
of about 30 elements was perceived two weeks ago.
Additional units backed up by helicopters were deployed in the
scene to track down the assailants.
Last months, as many as 11 troops were killed in an ambush in
the province of Ain Defla, 145 km south eastern Algiers. Enditem

Hotel owners forum lament multiple taxation By NAN

Image; mabuku The Hotel Owners Forum Abuja (HOFA), has decried the issue of multiple taxation imposed on its members by government. The President of HOFA, Dr Bola Onigbogi made this known at the annual dinner of the forum in Abuja on Friday. She said that because if the visibility of hotel business, it was easy for government agencies to track them down for the enforcement of numerous taxes. “ A quick count of the amount of taxes we pay shows that we pay over 30 different taxes in Abuja. Can anyone survive this onslaught? Can any business survive under this regulatory environment? According to Vanguard, tens of protesters on Wednesday, stormed the headquarters of the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC) in Abuja demanding an investigation into allegations of bribery levelled against the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole during the recently concluded nationwide primary elections of the party.
