The Edo State Police Command on Monday said it has arrested
five persons who allegedly specialise in snatching cars and
robbing their victims on the Agbor-Uromi-Auchi express road in
the state.
The names of the suspects were given as Eric Erazue,
Oghenetega Awuze, Donatus Usamako, Jibrin Mohammend and

The were said to have been arrested few hours after they
allegedly snatched two motorcycles and a Mercedes Benz car.
The suspects were said to have snatched the car from its owner
at about 7pm on Sunday and later drove it to Auchi, where a
buyer was contacted to buy the vehicle for the sum of N300,000.
It was, however, learnt that the suspects were arrested by police
officers from the Uromi Police Division when the car developed

while en route to the state capital, for a transfer of ownership.
Two locally made guns and a mobile phone, belonging to the
owner of the snatched car, were said to have been recovered,
following the arrest.
Edo Police spokesman, DSP Stephen Onwochei, who spoke to

the suspects had been on the wanted list of the police.
Onwochei also added that they would be charged to court at the
end of investigations.
