Vigilante group foils suicide bombing in Borno

The Nigerian Army said yesterday that an attempt by a suicide
bomber to attack Rumirgo Market in Askira Uba Local
Government Area of Borno State was foiled by a vigilante group
member.
The suspected suicide bomber heading to Rumirgo market was
said to have been accosted by the vigilante.
A statement by Col. Sani Usman, Acting Director of Army Public
Relations, narrated the incident: “In the process of interrogation,
the suspected terrorist blew himself up and died on the spot.
“The vigilante member sustained injuries and has been rushed
to hospital for medical treatment by troops.
“The situation is under control as people go about their normal
businesses.
“Troops have been put on maximum alert to forestall further
attack”.
