Keffi - The Emir of Keffi in Nasarawa State, Alhaji Mohammadu Chindo Yamusa II, has passed away. The Galadima of Keffi, Alhaji Abdul Usman, confirmed this on Friday at a news conference in Keffi Local Government Area of the state. The Galadima, who is also the emir’s cousin, said that the late monarch, who took ill briefly, died in the early hours of Friday in his palace in Keffi. He said, “our emir, the promoter of peace and culture died this morning after a brief illness. “His death is heartbreaking, painful but God gives life and takes it at will. “The emir had contributed a lot to the development of not only Keffi, but to the development of Nasarawa State and the entire country while alive.’’ According to him, the late emir was 70 years old and ascended the throne on May 11, 1978.
