Bankers Games: UBA Hunts for First Maximum Points

UBA continues their title defence in the 2015 Nigeria Bankers
Games with a tie against Fidelity Bank, the only side in the
group without a point though they have also played one match
less than others. UBA, prided as Africa’s biggest bank are yet to
fully turn in an impressive showing after two games all of which
were drawn to leave them two points behind First Bank, the
group leaders.
For their Coach, Odafe Okotie, the barren draw against First
Bank on Match Day 2 was ‘saddening because we had the
chances to claim all three points”. But Okotie took away one
positive from the fixture going into this weekend’s encounter
saying, “though the match ended in a draw, we played better
than in the first match against Sterling and we will build on that
performance against Fidelity”.
The other game of the day features teams from Group B where
Skye Bank calls the shots from the top with four points.
However, Ecobank must make up for their opening day defeat to
Skye Bank when they engage a Heritage Bank that are only
enjoying their second season in the biggest corporate games in
the country. It is an opportunity for Ecobank to count on
experience to claim their own three points and stay behind
group leaders.
All the fixtures will hold at the ultra modern mini stadium at the
Digital Bridge Institute near Oshodi.
