Bauchi gov, APC laud Adamu's nomination as minister

Bauchi state Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar has
commended President Muhammadu Buhari for nominating
Malam Adamu Adamu for minister.
A statement by the Governor yesterday said the nomination was
an indication of Adamu's high estimation not only in Bauchi
state,but also in the country.
He said his government and people of Bauchi state were
confident in his ability to justify the confidence reposed in him by
President Buhari.
He described Malam Adamu Adamu as "a respected
academic,and social crusader", who is well known and surely
stand him in good to discharge his ministerial responsibilities".
The governor also appealed to the Senators from Bauchi state
and other stakeholders to rally round Mal. Adamu Adamu as he
joins other eminent Nigerians to move to another level of
excellence.
In the same vein,the Bauchi State chapter of the APC has also
thrown it's weight behind the nomination of Adamu Adamu by
the President.
Chairman of the party,Alhaji Uba Nana was quoted in a
statement issued by the party in Bauchi that the person chosen
by the president to represent the state in his cabinet is a
committed individual who will help in the actualisation of the
change mantra and transformation of the country in any
capacity.
The statement signed by the party's publicity secretary, Auwalu
Aliyu Jallah reads in part "The Bauchi State APC hereby identify
and aligned with the vision of President Muhammed Buhari and
also in his wisdom to appoint one of our own, in the person of
Alhaji Adamu Adamu as the ministerial appointee from our dear
State Bauchi. On behalf of Bauchi State Exco and members of
the Party, we hereby congratulate Alhaji Adamu Adamu and
wish him well in all his endeavours."

I work for Lagos policeman, says suspected robber April 11, 2016

 Afeez Hanafi A 21-year-old suspected robber, Akeem Popoola, says a police inspector attached to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Lagos State Police Command, Ikeja, uses him to swindle unsuspecting victims. He said he had worked for the policeman, identified as Inspector Festus, aka Ijaya, for about four months before he was arrested. The carpenter, who is currently in custody at the Agbado divison, Ogun State, was arrested for robbery and burglary. A mattress and speakers of a sound system were reportedly recovered from him in the Giwa area of Agbado on April 6. He told PUNCH Metro that apart from burglary, he used to collect phones from the inspector and he would later sell them.
