We Recovered N27Million from FESTAC Bank Robbers, Says Police

Hours after the dare-devil armed robbery gang numbering over
40 stormed both Diamond and Access Banks at 4th Avenue,
FESTAC Town, Lagos, the Area E Command said they tried their
best despite being at a disadvantage numerically.
Speaking to THISDAY exclusively, the Area E Commander, ACP
Frank Mba, said they recovered about 27million from the
robbers, who were forced to drop the stolen money before they
fled.
He also said they recovered about 240 rounds of AK47 live
ammunition, adding that the money has been deposited at
another branch of Diamond Bank, still in FESTAC Town.

Emir of Keffi dies at 70

Keffi - The Emir of Keffi in Nasarawa State, Alhaji Mohammadu Chindo Yamusa II, has passed away. The Galadima of Keffi, Alhaji Abdul Usman, confirmed this on Friday at a news conference in Keffi Local Government Area of the state. The Galadima, who is also the emir’s cousin, said that the late monarch, who took ill briefly, died in the early hours of Friday in his palace in Keffi. He said, “our emir, the promoter of peace and culture died this morning after a brief illness. “His death is heartbreaking, painful but God gives life and takes it at will. “The emir had contributed a lot to the development of not only Keffi, but to the development of Nasarawa State and the entire country while alive.’’ According to him, the late emir was 70 years old and ascended the throne on May 11, 1978. Meet Bukola Taiwo, oldest African model
