How APC plans to rig Bayelsa election -PDP

THE Bayelsa Restoration Campaign Organisation of the
Peoples Democratic Party( PDP), has raised the alarm
over plans of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to rig
the December 5 governorship election in Bayelsa State.
BYRCO in a press conference addressed by its Director of
Media and Publicity, Hon. Jonathan Obuebite, said the plot
was being hatched by some officials in the Presidency,
two northern governors and some national officials in the
Independent National Electoral Commission( INEC).
According to him, the attempt by the APC leadership to
compromise INEC officials in Bayelsa State to have access
to authentic results sheets had failed but they are not
relenting in their efforts to suppress the will of Bayelsans.
He said: “As we are talking to you, they are not relenting in
the criminal proposition to manipulate some officials of
INEC both at the national headquarters and Bayelsa
towards actualizing their evil plan to rig the election by all
means. In the aspect of this ignoble plot, these officials, if
they succumb to the on-going pressure being mounted on
them will be asked to distribute fake result sheets on the
day of the election while withholding the original copies to
execute the rigging. This is a fact we came across through
our intelligence network which we must emphasize is very
credible. Besides the above nefarious and unpatriotic acts,
we have also discovered that APC in Bayelsa is busy
cloning and buying up Permanent Voter Cards( PVCs)
which they hope to use to distort the outcome of the
election by falsifying results of the card reader as well as
compromising the card readers that would be sent to PDP
strongholds throughout the state”.
He noted that the PDP has decided to expose the plans of
the APC so as to draw the attention of President
Muhammadu Buhari to the development as a matter of
national concern.
“We want to state with all seriousness that we believe in
the integrity of Mr President who may not know for
instance that some top ranking officials in the Presidency
are actually working assiduously with the APC to rig the
election.
But now that we are using this medium to inform him, we
earnestly urge Mr President to wade in immediately and
call everybody involved to order without further delay. The
same plea goes to the leadership of the Army and the
Police not only to warn its officers about the evil of
election manipulation but also that these respective
national institutions of dignity and honour watch the kind
of officers they send to Bayelsa for the election.”
