Okorocha denies indicting Tinubu in Audu’s death

Owerri - Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has denied
indicting the national leader of the All Progressives Congress
(APC), Ahmed Bola Tinubu of being responsible for the death
of the APC governorship candidate in Kogi State, Abubakar
Audu, reports NewsDay.
Okorocha described the report linking him to the statement as
malicious and unfounded.
Reports were rife in the social media on Sunday that Tinubu
had a hand in Audu’s death.

It was reported that Audu’s poisoning was pre-planned in
order to impose Tinubu’s loyalist, James Abiodun Faleke, who
is running mate on Kogi.
But Okorocha in statement on Monday said he was presiding
over the meeting of the South-East Governors’, Ohaneze
leaders, traditional rulers and National Assembly members at
Enugu state Government House, over the issues of pro-Biafra
protests and agitations, when news of Audu’s death broke.
Okorocha, who spoke through his Chief Press Secretary, Sam
Onwuemeodo, said the report was totally false even on the
face value.
He noted that the report was a wicked machination of people
who are envious of his towering profile and aimed at bringing
him at loggerheads with leaders of the party especially Tinubu.
