News AIG pledges clampdown on criminals
AS the Yuletide draws near, the Nigeria Police Force, Zone 6,
Calabar, has warned criminals to stay away from the zone,
particularly Rivers State or be ready to face the wrath of the law
when caught. The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of the zone,
Mr. Baba Bolanta, who issued this warning shortly after a
stakeholders’ meeting at the State Police Command in Port
Harcourt on Monday, cautioned troublemakers to have a
change of mind and stay out trouble.
Explaining that no crime is minor, Bolanta said the police would
spare no one found to be involved in any form of crime before,
during and after the Yuletide.
The AIG, who was with the Army, Air Force and Navy
Commanders in Rivers, had earlier met with traditional rulers,
community leaders, elders and other stakeholders.
Bolanta pointed out that the police were intensifying efforts
towards ensuring that both the Christmas and New Year
celebrations were peaceful and crime-free.
He said all sections of the force would be deployed in different
parts of the zone to ensure that criminals were apprehended
and made to face the law.
