Uwazuruike remains expelled – MASSOB

From George Onyejiuwa , Owerri
Less than 48 hours after Chief Ralph Uwazuruike
announced a name change, the new leadership of the
Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign state of
Biafra (MASSOB), yesterday, insisted that he is expelled
from the group.
On Sunday, Uwazuruike announced he had formed another
group, the Biafra Independent Movement (BIM). This was
just as the Uchenna Madu-led MASSOB stated that its
former leader, Uwazuruike is being investigated for
fraudulent acts and that the MASSOB is not part of BIM.
In a statement by Mr. Samuel Edeson, the new national
director of information, after an emergency meeting of the
group at its new headquarters in Okwe, Okigiwe council
area of Imo State and made available to Daily Sun, they
insisted: “that Uwazuruike remained an expelled leader of
MASSOB who is still under investigation of fraudulent
acts.
It further stated that, “MASSOB under our new leader,
Madu, has never collapsed, or integrated with any group
including the newly formed BIM. After the investigation,
MASSOB shall issue Uwazuruike a time frame to return all
MASSOB properties in his possession.”
