PICS: Floods wreak havoc in northern England





London - Britain's army was called in to help people evacuate
from their homes over the weekend, as stormy weather left
parts of the country severely flooded.
Storm Desmond hit the north-east of the United Kingdom on
Saturday. About 60 000 homes in northern regions were left
without power and electricity.
Members of the British army assisted the emergency services
in northern England, after British Prime Minister David
Cameron assured Britons on Twitter that the armed services
would be sent into affected towns.
One man was killed on Sunday in the floods.

The army has been mobilised to help those affected by
Storm Desmond and floods. A COBRA meeting is
happening to ensure everything is done.
