Twin blasts kill 5 in Borno

Twin suicide attacks believed to have been carried out by
Boko Haram bombers in two Borno communities have
killed no fewer than five people.
A security source said a male suicide bomber in Kimba
village, south of Borno attempted to enter the market and
suddenly his bomb exploded prematurely, killing two
people. A woman and her baby were also injured in the
process.
“Today is Kimba market day and some suicide bombers
attempted to invade the crowded market on Friday
morning but were prevented by some vigilante members.
However, the bomb-laden vest of the suicide bomber ex
ploded prematurely and two people died at the scene,” the
security said.
The blast occurred at about 9am yesterday in Kimba
some 55 kilometres to Biu, headquarters of Biu Local
Government.
Also in Sabon Gari, few Kilometres to Kimba, another
female suicide bomber detonated explosive devices at a
security checkpoint and killed three other persons. “She
was on queue at the checkpoint, unknown to them she
was carrying IEDs She is a Boko Haram suicide bomber.
She killed three other persons”, a police source said.
